Marking the 40th anniversary of Videotage, visual artists neneneko and mimic kappa were invited to engage with Hong Kong video art history through the Videotage Media Art Collection (VMAC) —a diverse collection of video and media art from Hong Kong and its nearby regions.

Drawing on their expertise as video jockeys (VJs), the artists developed Rewind, Re-record – an installation of CRT monitors to experiment with signal interference and noise. By reassembling fragments from the archive, they bring overlooked details within works spanning from the 1980s to the present back into focus, revitalising the collection through fresh lenses and unexpected encounters.

Rewind, Re-record will be part of 10AFEST, which will take place in the City University of Hong Kong. It will also be part of Videotage’s archive exhibition in November.

適逢錄映太奇四十週年，視覺藝術家 neneneko 與儀態河童受邀深入錄映太奇媒體藝術庫藏（VMAC）翻箱倒籠，從歷年本地及鄰近地區的錄像作品中重新組成新作《（暫）倒帶再錄像》，回應香港錄像藝術發展。

兩位 VJ 從他們的創作經驗出發，運用顯像管電視組建裝置作品，將訊號干擾和雜訊轉化為創作語彙。透過擷取庫藏作品中的影像碎片，他們的裝置將聚焦從八十年代至今被忽略的細節，以嶄新的視角與意想不到的互動交織，為庫藏注入當代生命力。

《（暫）倒帶再錄像》將在 10AFEST 期間於城市大學亮相，稍後亦將於錄映太奇文獻回顧展再次展出。
