Copy is Right! is a satirical remix sampling stock images, sound effects, and pop music downloaded from the Internet. Colliding dialogues are generated from a tailor-made application utilizing the voice of the Apple synthesizer. By manipulating intellectual property and open-source software, the video reimagines the legal and illegal narratives traversing computational input, Internet-based technology, and social media under current conditions of techno-capitalism.

Joseph Chen King Yuen is an artist and curator based in Hong Kong, currently the Director of Culture at Eaton HK. His curatorial and art practices deal with gender and sexuality, subculture, mythology, and technology revolving around visual art, moving image, and performance. He is the co-founder of Virtue Village, an art duo creating and curating art that connects humans to spirituality and intimacy, and navigates the planes of queer, fetish, and posthumanism.
