95,23 Ninety Five,Two or Three was produced six years between the pro-democracy moment on June 4th 1989 and the sovereignty handover of Hong Kong in 1997. The director plays with the metaphor of Hong Kong being a ping-pong ball, thrown from one side to the other side. The ping-pong is framed in the streets of Hong Kong. Performers without individual characteristics are carriers of the ping-pong, performing in the “Yang Ban Xi” theatrical style (a style favored by the Chinese Communist Party during the Cultural Revolution).
