Phoebe WONG黃小燕

Phoebe Wong has a background in design and anthropology. She is a cultural worker with particular interests in contemporary art, design, and visual media. Wong was Head of Research at the Asia Art Archive before becoming an independent researcher and writer in 2012. Her practice spans writing, archiving, and research. She is currently exploring a wide range of themes: memory and alternative histories, museonomics, archiving, data mapping, essay film, and art and technology. Wong’s writings have been published in art plus, Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, and the AICAHK website, among others. She served on Videotage’s board from 2013 to 2022 and is currently Head of Research (part-time), overseeing the Videotage Media Art Collection (VMAC), which represents nearly 40 years of development in video and media art in Hong Kong.
