“Burning Things” is a 2023 3-day showcase of “Pave Your Path”. Co-organized by Film London, G39 and Videotage and supported by British Council, the showcase features 18 shorts by emerging artists from Hong Kong, England, and Wale.

We are excited to announce “Burning Things”, the showcase of “Pave Your Path: Career-focused Workshops for Moving Image Artists” in Hong Kong, running from 23 to 25 March 2023 at Videotage!

Co-organized by Film London, G39 and Videotage and supported by British Council, Pave Your Path has organized an introductory session and thematic workshops for the participating artists to exchange virtually and get inspiration from each others’ works and practices. The 3-day screening showcase will feature 18 exciting shorts by emerging artists from Hong Kong, England, and Wales, giving the audience a glimpse into the new generation of moving images in the 2020s.

The 18 moving images artists of Pave Your Path are: Asmaa Jama, Aled Simons, Bo Choy, Ben Dawson, Chris Childs, Hou Lam Tsui, Kit Griffiths, Kitty Yeung, Kwan Q Li, Phoenix Ngo Chun Tse, Paul R Jones, Ronan Mackenzie, Roanna Holmes Frodsham, Radha Patel, Samson Wong Pak Hang, Tobi Onabolu, Thisby Cheng and Zillah Bowes.

About Pave Your Path: Career-focused Workshops for Moving Image Artists

Pave Your Path: Career-focused Workshops for Moving Image Artists is a UK/HK workshops and screening program running from February to April 2023, with the aim of strengthening collaboration, knowledge sharing, and links between HK and UK artists. Co-organized by Film London, G39, and Videotage, the project strives to strategically support the next generation of moving image art practitioners, in particular emerging artists, who are working to build their careers in the art sector. Through sharing of knowledge by reputable industry professionals, the project will equip the artists with vital information and skills in fundraising, collaboration, contracts, copyright, green production, idea presentations, and curating. It will also help them to build international connections through a networking session and screenings.

《燃》是Pave Your Path 香港及英國流動影像藝術家工作坊計劃的子計劃。項目受英國文化協會資助，由 Film London、G39和錄映太奇合辦。致力支持下一代流動影像藝術從業者，尤其是正在努力在藝術領域建立自己職業生涯的藝術家。為期三天的展覽將展示來自香港、英格蘭和威爾士 18 部新進藝術家的精彩短片——讓我們一窺 2020 年後新一代的流動影像。

「PAVE YOUR PATH：流動影像藝術家職業導向工作坊」是一個培育並連結香港與英國藝術家的工作坊和放映計劃，於2023 年 2 月至 2023 年 4 月舉行，旨在加強香港和英國藝術家之間的合作、知識和聯繫。項目受英國文化協會資助，由 Film London、G39和錄映太奇合辦，致力支持下一代流動影像藝術從業者，尤其是正在努力在藝術領域建立自己職業生涯的藝術家。通過藝術圈內資深專業人士的分享，藝術家將了解到籌劃資金、合作、合同、版權、環保拍攝、概念展示和策展方面的技巧與注意事項，並藉著參與視像會議工作坊和於香港、英國及網上舉行的放映，拓展國際上的聯繫與人脈。
