Sound of deja vu, traveling from the left to the right, coming from the back towards the front, until all evidence is lost…. Siu-fong turned corners and walked down the street, searching for her son. Like a game of hide and seek, she finally found out, her son was just always there…

This short-film is trying to challenge the regular film production process. The group of two creative members, one is known as sound designer and one is active in sound art, are trying to reverse the filming order by making the soundtrack first. Screenplay and story script is written by narrative sound recording from the daily life, fast moving life of Hong Kong.

What we are concerned about is the listening experience from the cinema, that in this time the 5.1, 7.1 sound system, in which sound interweaving among the seats, should be more significant than the projection screen in the front. We try to let sound to tell the story, and invite the audience to reproduce the meaning and context of the film.

The story is about a mother who is searching for her lost ‘son’ on a holiday, driving by sound from the city as well as sound coming from her mind. While touring she found out what she was looking for.

The film premiered at Oil Street Art Space in Hong Kong in 2016.
