“Self Reflection (2019)” explores the idea that we have the power to choose how we respond to pain and hardship. The concept of “cutting one’s soul into pieces” to confront and learn from our mistakes is a metaphor for the internal work we must do to heal and grow. I also delve into the idea that our present, past, and future are interconnected and can inform one another. The notion of following multiple paths in life, and the question of whether it is necessary or even possible to do so, adds a layer of complexity to the work.

Through the use of imagery and symbolism, such as the metaphor of a “blanket of air,” I seek to convey the surreal and intangible nature of life and memory. The concept of the “matrix” adds a futurism element, suggesting that we are all part of a larger, interconnected system.
