<p>This compilation showcases works made by female video artists. From the adventures of the walking vagina in <em>Rati</em> by Phoebe Man to the two video works on Hong Kong’s famous Cantonese Opera duo: <em>Song of the Goddess</em> by Ellen Pau and <em>Suet-Sin’s Sisters</em> by Yau Ching, this selection maps the disparate ways in which female artists address topics of gender and sexuality.</p>
<p>本作品集輯錄了女性錄像藝術家的作品。由文晶瑩的《慧慧》中敍述會行會走的陰唇，以至兩部紀錄了香港女同性戀者藝術家的作品鮑藹倫的《似是故人來》和游靜的《雪仙的妹妹》，刻劃了女性錄像藝術家對性取向的不同演繹方法。</p>

<p>This compilation features works by 10 local video artists. It captures the burdensome anxiety of the end of British colonial rule, which cause shockwaves that were felt throughout the wider landscape of daily life in Hong Kong. The transition of Hong Kong from a colonial to a post-colonial city has been critical to the development of the city and its people. Evidence of this can be seen through this selection of single-channel video that spans the years from 1990 to 1998. While the reunification may have induced trauma and/or liberation, these experiences, as the titles suggest, have expired.</p>
<p>本作品集收錄了十位本地錄像藝術家對後殖民統治的憂慮。香港由殖民主義統治過渡到後殖民主義，對於整個城市及香港人都有決定性的影響，從這輯由1990至1998年創作的單頻道錄像作品可見一斑。雖然回歸可能引發著的創傷和解放情緒，但這經驗一如題目所說都過期了。</p>

<p>This video compilation presents works made between 1984-1995, documents the various styles in video making in Hong Kong under British rule and reflects its post-colonial cultural identity.</p>
<p>In 1983, after the signing of the Sino-British Joint Declaration, much of the work in Hong Kong is based on the search for a cultural identity and the unique hybrid of east and west. The works presented here reflect a witty and oblique approach in treating such an important social and historical issue.</p>
<p>此作品集輯錄了十位本地藝術家由1984至1995年的錄像作品，紀錄了香港錄像創作人在過去英國統治下的不同創作風格，並反映殖民時期的混雜文化身份。</p>
<p>1983年中英聯合聲明簽訂後，很多香港錄像創作人的作品開始以思索自身未來及尋找文化身份為創作基礎，以下作品反映了在處理這個重要的社會歷史議題時，一種既戲謔又間接的手法。</p>

<p>Both Sides Now 8 explores both real and virtual Queer spaces, with moving image works by international artists and filmmakers, including Kit Griffiths, Bassam Issa, Liao Jiaming, P1nk Poodle, Su Hui-Yu, Wang Jun-Jieh, Megan Watson, Robert Yang.</p>
<p>Curated by videoclub and Videotage, Both Sides Now 8 brings together a collection of films that explore queerness from international perspectives, which resonate between the fantastical, material, theoretical and playful. Where artists are exploring real and virtual spaces, creating and queering reality and virtuality. Using videogames, CGI, post-digital performance, and film, artists have made work exploring desire, death, cyberspace, passion and exorcism.</p>

<p>第八屆《彼岸觀自在》探討真實和虛擬的酷兒空間，展示的流動影像作品來自多位國際藝術家及電影創作者，包括Kit Griffiths、Bassam Issa、廖家明、P1nk Poodle、蘇匯宇、王俊傑、Megan Watson及Robert Yang。</p>
<p>本節目由videoclub和Videotage共同策展，選映一系列從國際視野探討酷兒主題的影像作品，這些作品在奇幻、物質、理論、嬉戲之間互為共鳴，而藝術家從中探索真實和虛擬的空間，創造並酷兒化了現實和虛擬。藝術家們運用電子遊戲、電腦特效、後數碼表演和影像等形式創作，探索慾望、死亡、網絡世界、激情及驅魔的主題。</p>
