Although this video was made to promote a theatrical performance, its tone is detached. Comprised of (re)shots of TV footage mostly from the chief-executive election and a well-controlled train crash-test, it attempts to heighten the “fakeness” shared by the two events and also the commercials which surround it. Under the hidden designer’s hand, the “fakeness” and plasticity, which is as synthetic in nature as a bad detective story or a computer simulation, is only too inevitable (and ugly).
