Human beings always see him, herself as the main or central part of the world. His, her existence is absurd because its contingency finds no external justification. People are no longer people, but their speeded up movement interlocked with the “world” of those lengthened flashes.

Derek HUI grew up in Hong Kong. His short works I can’t give you anything but LOVE and Here and There, have been shown in the Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards and Third Text: Images + Media 2003 in Hong Kong. His work Being was selected to participate in the 14th International Electronic Art Festival, Videobrasil. His works explore philosophical themes and issues of space, bodies and relationships of love and lust. He is also interested in alternative modes of narration like micro-narrative and spatialized narrative.
