Following Ernest Fung, the next installment of Videotage’s This Moment, That Time oral history series features programme curator Winnie Fu. As the former director of the Microwave International New Media Art Festival, she reflects on her experience curating the early editions of the festival, witnessing its expansion from video to interactive media, bio art and beyond, as well as its evolution from being an initiative of Videotage into an independent organisation.

An active Videotage member in the 1990s, Winnie later became a member of its board of directors. She was also involved in the selection of works and programme curation for the early editions of the Microwave Festival. In the interview, she shares how her interest in image led her to meet artists such as Ellen Pau and Chan Pik Yu, and eventually to travel to and study in Germany on her own. Her exposure to the local art scene there would also inspire her approach to programme curation in Hong Kong.

Outside of Videotage, Winnie worked at the Hong Kong Film Archive for more than 20 years. She describes her work across the two organisations as occupying opposite ends of the spectrum between old and new media. She also unpacks her process of curating programmes at the Film Archive, while reflecting on how curiosity has shaped her experiences and broadened her vision over the years.

繼馮偉後，錄映太奇的《彼時當刻》訪問系列今次找來節目策劃人傅慧儀，暢談她策劃早期「微波」國際新媒體藝術節的心得，並見證它從錄像擴展到互動媒體、生物藝術等，同時從附屬於錄映太奇到成為獨立組織的歷程。

傅慧儀自1990 年代活躍於錄映太奇，其後成為董事會成員，並參與早期「微波」錄像節的作品徵集和節目策劃。她將與我們分享她對影像的興趣如何使她結識到鮑藹倫、陳碧如等藝術家，又因此隻身到德國進修、旅遊，甚至從當地的藝術氛圍得到活動策劃的啓迪。

在錄映太奇以外，傅慧儀亦任職於香港電影資料館二十多年，更直言自己的工作位處新舊媒體光譜的兩端。她在本次訪問中也會解構自己在資料館策劃節目的流程，並回望自己的好奇心如何成就她的經歷和視野。
