With the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC)’s Intermediate Arts Administration Internship Programme, Videotage is seeking a full-time Project Manager (12-month contract)* with at least four years of experience in media art-related positions to join our team.

Working closely with the Videotage team, artists, and key stakeholders, the Project Manager will deliver a diverse range of media-art happenings, spanning screenings, exhibitions, performances, workshops, and online publications, etc. Reporting to the Programme Director, the successful candidate will drive coordination and execution, collaborating with guest curators, artists, designers, and technicians to realise project deliverables in a resource-conscious and timely manner.

In addition to the opportunity to collaborate with cross-regional artists and cultural practitioners, this position offers potential overseas programming experience (screening/ exhibition overseas) and a 12-month contract with the possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities:

– Report to the Programme Director as a mid-level staff member, guiding junior staff, interns and freelance team members through project execution

– Collaborate with curators and artists to facilitate the production of commissioned works, balancing artistic concepts with practical execution

– Coordinate and execute media art programmes; preparing project management documentation to maintain overviews and facilitate inter-team communication

– Provide end-to-end project execution support, including budget preparation, timeline allocation, funder communications, and reporting

– Coordinate and manage overseas projects, communicating with partners from different cultures and adapting projects to foreign contexts

– Support financial governance by facilitating procurement, organising invoices and receipts, and updating budgets to reflect actual spending

– Maintain the equipment inventory, oversee venue maintenance, and manage rental arrangements

– Attend board and external meetings; assist in preparing agendas and taking minutes

– Provide research support for the Programme Director, ranging from material sourcing, price comparisons to information gathering and artist research

Required Qualifications and Experiences:

– Hong Kong permanent residents aged 18 or above and is ordinarily residing in Hong Kong

– University graduate in media art, cultural studies, cultural management, digital humanities or related disciplines

4+ years of professional experience in the arts sector, or community/cultural project managements

– Have a proven track record of working within creative industry and cultural sectors

Selection Criteria

Strong command of English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate clearly in both languages (spoken and written) across cross‑regional teams.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a cooperative team player who supports the organisation’s mission to promote media art.

Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to break project deliverables into actionable tasks and effectively monitor progress.

Practical production knowledge of media art programmes and a passion for critical discussion surrounding new technologies.

Proven budget monitoring and financial administration skills; able to compare and evaluate quotations independently, as well as prepare and organise spending documentation.

Self-directed yet collaborative: able to work independently and thrive when working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Technical proficiency in video editing, programming, or graphic design is an advantage, as the role requires close collaboration with designers, contractors, and editors.
