Thomas Munz, curator for the video and image section of the renowned Transmediale International Media Art Festival, Berlin (2022, 2003), is bringing a selection of the festival’s 2003 screening programme to Hong Kong for one show only. After the screening, Munz will also present a talk on the current European video and media art scene.

Founded in 1988, Transmediale is one of the most successful international festivals of electronic media art and media culture in Europe. Started as a video festival, Transmediale has since developed into an interactive platform for artists, media professionals, cultural theorists and the general public.

The selection of videos to be shown in Hong Kong represents some of the best of contemporary videos in the world of a variety of genres.

After the 80-min screening, Thomas Munz will present a talk on the current media art scene in Europe.
