Liquid Hominid
Liquid Hominid is an evocative and absurdist scene–blending fluid human form and aspirations with marine biology and underwater movements. It is composed of dense, viscous water and is constantly shifting, rippling, debating and ripping things apart. Drifting through and around are ephyrae and damselfish with translucent skirts pulsing with the hominid bodies and past their boundaries.
The artworks by Bo Zheng and Katrien Jacobs reposition the hominid as queer and inseparable from aquatic ecosystems. Water’s refusal of boundaries advocates for reciprocity as well as joyful and sensual approaches to oceanic care and advocacy. Liquid Hominid brings to the fore a critique of AI technology as it synthesizes intelligence while depleting water resources. The artworks examine how bodies of water and their intelligence have spurred vibrant human-marine ethics and poetics and fantasy-rich visionary media. The exhibition opens with a short performance-lecture by Dr. Jacobs, a playful statement towards generative AI as heralded tool of societal and artistic renewal.
This will be followed by a roundtable discussion with Isaac Leung, K Y Wong, Cecilia Wong, Zhang Zimu, Emilie Sin Yi Choi who will reflect on AI, water ethics and climate justice, queer and gender bodies, alongside these new technologies.

《Liquid Hominid》（意譯：液態原人）是一幕意象豐富且具荒誕色彩的場景——它將流動的人體形態與慾望，融入海洋生物學及水下運動之中。作品由濃稠、黏滯的水構成，並始終處於變化、起伏、爭辯，以及撕裂物體的狀態。水母幼體與雀鯛穿梭漂游，半透明的裙擺隨之律動，在原人般的身體及其邊界之外悠游。
鄭波與 Katrien Jacobs 的作品將「原始人」重新定位為酷兒存在，並將其呈現為與水生生態系統不可分割的一部分。水拒絕接受固定的邊界，這種特質既倡議互惠關係，也鼓勵我們以歡愉且感性的方式關懷海洋、維護海洋權益。《Liquid Hominid》同時強調對人工智慧技術的批判：科技與智慧日益融合的同時，也持續消耗水資源。作品探討水體及其智慧如何啟發充滿活力的人類—海洋倫理與詩學，並形塑出富於幻想、面向未來的視覺媒介。展覽開幕將以 Jacobs 博士的一場簡短「表演式講座」拉開序幕。他們將以幽默而具玩味的方式，對生成式人工智能——這一被視為推動社會與藝術革新的工具——作出宣告。
隨後舉行的圓桌討論，將邀請梁學彬、黃嘉瀛、黃嘉晞、張子木及蔡倩怡，就人工智能、水倫理、氣候正義、 酷兒與性別正義，以及新技術等議題回應。
