The logo design competition of dorkbot-hk was closed at the end of November. We have received many entries with professional qualities, thanks to all for your hard work and support to the competition!

Now, we are pleased to announce the winner of the competition: Fung Ming Chu, who is a designer based in Hong Kong and below is her design being chosen as the official dorkbot-hk logo!

Thanks to all of you who have submitted a design proposal to the official dorkbot-hk! We are now in the process of selection. The winning design will be announced by the end of this month. Winner will be notified by email. Stay tuned for the result!

In the meantime, we are preparing for the first dorkbot-hk meeting to be happened around Feb 2010. If you are interested to share one of your creative projects relating to the theme of electricity, please send us a text describing the work and a few good images for our consideration. 位於牛棚藝術村的新媒體藝術組織【錄映太奇】將於今年成立 dorkbot的香港分站，將一股電子熱潮帶到香港！我們現正招募一個潮爆Logo來代表香港的官方基地，勝出者除了能獲得港幣1,000元現金獎外，更可於dorkbot的全球網站揚名，又有機會和 dorkbot-hk的成員合作將得獎設計製成電子雕塑！　

Dorkbot 是什麼？

比賽簡介
> 標誌設計應包含 「dorkbot-hk」字樣 ；　
> 設計能表達【獨特/原創/電】等概念 ；
> 參賽作品須為參賽者本人創作，並當以小尺寸印製時都能易識別 ；
> 設計風格應適用於不同的宣傳品上，如電子媒體、文具、紀念物品等。

> 參賽作品請連同申請表格（請於此下載），以電郵方式提交：dorkbothk@dorkbot.org
> 截止日期：2009年11月30日(星期一)；　
> 提交格式為JPG或PNG, 而檔案上限不得超過1MB。請另外準備高解像度或向量圖格式版本；
> 參賽者可提交多個作品；　
> 參賽者必須了解並同意是次比賽的細則及參賽條款。

獲獎設計
> 得獎者將於2009年12月31日或以前以電話或電郵方式通知；　
> 部分參賽作品將於 dorkbot-hk 的網站內展示；　
> 得獎者者將獲得現金獎港幣1,000元；　
> 得獎作品將會成為 dorkbot香港的標誌, 並將用於在 dorkbot 網站及相關宣傳品；　
> 獲獎者的姓名將於 dorkbot-hk 及錄映太奇的網站，以及相關的新聞稿內公佈。

參賽細則及條款
1. 導言
a. 參與比賽的人士即表示參加者接受並同意遵守比賽規則，以及有關獎項附帶的條款及細則。 dorkbot 香港對一切比賽細節、獎項和規則擁有最終決定權並對所有有關人士具約束性。
b. dorkbot 香港有權終止、修訂或修改任何條款及細則，以及任何有關比賽的安排，亦可於任何時間全權酌情決定撤銷或停辦比賽，而毋須預先通知，亦毋須承擔任何責任。
2. 知識產權
a. 所有參賽作品的版權全部歸於dorkbot 香港。
b. 除非參賽者是由法律授權，否則在未經 dorkbot香港的事先書面同意下，不得參與或允許他人
i.　出售，複製，發行，修改，展示，公開表演，製作衍生作品，轉貼或以其他方式使用設計作任何公開或商業目的。
ii. 知識產權行使任何權利，除非這是明文規定。
c. 參賽者同意標誌是'dorkbot香港' 的是的商標。'dorkbot香港' 保留擁有使用此商標的權利。 dorkbot 香港有權公開所有獲獎作品作宣傳用途。
d. 參賽作品將不會退還予參賽者。

Logo Design Competition
Get creative with electricity shock!

Submission Deadline: 30 November 2009 (Monday)

This year, Videotage is starting the official Hong Kong chapter of DORKBOT and we are now inviting designers to create a logo for us. The winner will be awarded HK$1,000 cash prize, get international exposure on dorkbot.org, has the chance to work with the local team on the website built upon the winning design, and be offered to work with a local artist to develop the logo concept into an electronic sculpture!

What is dorkbot?
Dorkbot's motto is People doing strange things with electricity.
It is an international network for ‘electricity lovers’ such as artists, inventors, scientists, engineers etc. to share and exchange ideas over anything related to electricity in an informal and friendly environment. Dorkbot stations were set up in over 84 cities around the world. Meetings are held from once a month to a few times a year depending on each city's capability. Dorkbot welcomes strange, innovative ideas, and encourage people to get creative with technology, to experiment, to embrace a DIY mode and originality. About dorkbot-hk
Videotage, as the initiator and organizer of dorkbot-hk, aims to bridge between local and international artists, inventors, scientists and engineers to push the boundaries of creating using electricity. Videotage is a non-profit organization based in the Cattle Depot Artist Village and is dedicated to promote media art to a broader community. Brief
The logo should:
- contain one of the word-mark 'dorkbot-hk'
- convey the concept of DIY / originality / electricity
- be original, distinct, unique and easily identifiable even in small size
- aesthetically fit in a variety of applications from stationery to digital media, commemorative items, etc.

Submission Details
- Submissions form, which can be downloaded HERE, must be sent via email to dorkbothk@dorkbot.org
- Deadline for submission: 30 November 2009 (Monday)
- The format of the submission should be either JPG or PNG, while the file size must not exceed 1MB. However, please be prepared to provide high resolution/vector graphic versions of your work.
- Please include your application form in the submission. (Download HERE)
- Participants may submit multiple entries.
- By participating in this competition, all participants acknowledge that they understand and agree to the Terms and Conditions of this competition.

Prize
- The winner will be notified by phone or via email no later than 31 December 2009.
- Selected entry will be displayed on the website of dorkbot hong kong.
- The competition winner will receive a cash prize of HKD 1,000.
- The winning design will become the official dorkbot-hk logo, and will be used on the dorkbot-hk website, and other promotional materials. - The winner’s name will be announced on dorkbot-hk's and Videotage's website, as well as in press releases related to the competition.

1. Introduction
a.In these terms and conditions, we or us means the Organizer of dorkbot-hk. Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they apply to the use of your design. By submitting your logo design, you agree to be bounded by these terms and conditions.
b.We may revise these terms and conditions from time to time by updating this posting. The revised terms will take effect when they are posted.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
a.You acknowledge that the design submitted is subject to copyright and possibly other intellectual property rights.
b.Unless you are expressly authorised by law you must not participate in, or permit any other person, to: i.sell, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, publicly perform, prepare derivative works based on, repost or otherwise use the design in any way for any public or commercial purpose without our prior written consent; or ii.exercise any intellectual property rights unless this is expressly stated.
c.You agree that the logo of 'dorkbot-hk' is our trademark and that we reserve all rights in the trademark.
d.The entry materials will be not be returned to any entrant.
