About MAN Ching-ying Phoebe 文晶瑩
Phoebe graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1991, major in Fine Arts. She received her MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2000. Her video work Rati won the Distinguished Award of the Hong Kong Independent Short Film & Video Award in 2000. Her video work Rati (version 3.2) and web art www.cyman.net have been invited to show in Germany, France, Netherlands, Norway Brazil and Hong Kong. She received a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council and the Urban Council Fine Arts Award from the Hong Kong Museum of Art in 1998. She was also selected to be one of the ten Smart Women of the 21st Century by Marie Claire in the same year. Currently she is an Instructor at the School of Creative Media of the City University of Hong Kong.
多媒體藝術家,1991年香港中文大學藝術系畢業,2000年於三藩市藝術學院修畢藝術碩士課程。其錄像作品《慧慧》獲2000年香港獨立短片及錄像比賽優異獎。錄像作品《慧慧3.2》與網頁作品聊天室系列(www.cyman.net),分別曾在德國、法國、荷蘭、挪威和巴西和香港展出。她曾在1998年獲亞洲文化協會獎助金,並獲市政局藝術獎;同年被《瑪利嘉兒》雜誌選為二十一世紀女性。現為香港城市大學創意媒體學院導師。

Pure Color is a commentary on television media in Hong Kong: colorful, fast, unsettling, and superficial. It is also an exercise of introspective interrogation through the converter lens, which in turn is viewed through the camera. 《純色彩》嘗試就香港電視媒體作出評價:色彩斑爛、快、不穩定以及表面化。這是一個使用變焦鏡作內心審議的練習,即用攝錄機轉變視線,經變焦展現沒法表彰的現實。經人手作的儀器製造出來的真實,一系列沒任何動機或盼望的動作和反應,只是個被媒體化的現實。

In the 1980s, Johnny was one of the active members in Zuni Icosahedron. Pure Color was one of his experimental video works when he studied film in France. 八十年代活躍於進念二十面體劇場表演,及後到法國修讀電影,現從事廣告業。《純色彩》是他於法國時所做的實驗作品。

About Jamsen Law 羅琛堡
Jamsen is a prominent young experimental artist in Hong Kong. Before his graduation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, he had actively participated in theatrical and video productions and was one of the core members of a multimedia art group, 20 Beans + A Box. Their works include Every Single Other Territories (My Own Idiosyncrasy Garden) in Hong Kong Arts Festival 1998. His independent video works, such as Getting Used to Run, has got the Gold Award (MTV) in Hong Kong Independent Film and Video 1997 and the Award of Excellence in Image Forum 1998, Japan. He has held solo screenings in Toronto, Tokyo, and Busan. He is now doing his research on media aesthetics in Institute of Advanced Media Art and Science in Japan.
羅琛堡畢業於香港中文大學藝術系及香港大學比較文學系,一向從事實驗性創作,自1993年起參與廿豆.盒子畫,探討視藝與演藝之間的可能性。他亦從事錄影及錄像裝置創作,其中《習慣走》曾榮獲獨立短片及錄像比賽(音樂錄像組)金獎,並在日本的Image Forum得到優異獎。從 1999 年起,他為前進進工作坊、進念.二十面體及藝穗會等帶領課程;並曾為悉尼藝術空間的駐館藝術家,及後獲邀至波蘭Castle of Imagination 作客席藝術家。現於日本攻讀媒體科技碩士課程。

Videotable is a conceptual piece based on a table, which is a recurring theme and motif in Danny Yung’s theatre pieces. A series of questions asking where “the center” is, loosely points towards power structures both in the political world and the art world. 《錄像桌子》是以桌子為中心的概念作品。桌子亦常出現在榮念曾劇場作品的主題,一系列我問題問及何謂 中心 ,隱然指涉政治世界和藝術世界的權力架構。
About Danny Yung 榮念曾 Danny was born in Shanghai in 1943, and moved to Hong Kong with his family at the age of five. He studied architecture at the University of California University, Berkeley, and completed his master degree on urban design and urban planning at Columbia University. In 1979, he returned to Hong Kong and held his first one-man cartoon exhibition. After which he became deeply involved in all aspects of the arts, including experimental films, cartoons, conceptual art, installation, video and performing arts. He formed the avant-garde arts collective Zuni Icosahedron in 1982 and he has been Artistic Director of Zuni since 1985.
生於1943年中國上海,五歲時隨家人移居香港。榮氏於柏克萊加州大學修讀建築系, 並在哥倫比亞大學研究院完成城市設計及城市規劃碩士課程。1979年返港,舉行首個個人漫畫展,及後開始在香港參加各類型的藝術創作,包括電影、漫畫、裝置、錄像、舞台與概念藝術,並於1982年成立藝術團體進念二十面體。從1985年開始,一直出任該團的藝術總監。
About SHUM Jim 沈聖德
In the 1980s, Shum was passionately interested in 8mm and 16mm film production. He ha directed some music videos in Taiwan. 1980年代熱愛拍攝超 8及16米厘,後來到台灣拍攝音樂錄像。

About Yong-lock Ong王榮祿
Founder of South ASLI Dance Workshop. Ong was a dancer of Hong Kong Dance Company (1989-93) and CCDC (1993-98). He performed with the Expressions Dance Company in the Brisbane Festival in 1998. He was awarded Hong Kong Dance Award 2002, and founded Unlock Dancing Plaza with Chau Kam-ngai in 2002. He is currently a freelance choreographer, dancer and dance instructor.
出生於馬來西亞,1989年加入市政局香港舞蹈團,曾擔任大型舞劇《自梳女》、《紅雪》等的男主角。1993年加入城市當代舞蹈團。在多個大型製作中擔任主要角色,並曾代表舞團巡迴演出 。
王氏為南群舞子創辦團員,並出任南群舞子藝術總監。曾為香港舞蹈團創作《游離症候群》、《色變》、《過程》。城市當代舞蹈團《草圖》、亞洲藝術節《暗遊峇迪》、《彩衣》、《晚霞》,國際華人華裔舞蹈節《鄰家的她》,馬來西亞華人舞蹈節《野鬼》,並為南群舞子作品《遺留下的狂傷》和香港藝穗節《匣子》擔任監製。2002年獲頒發香港舞蹈年獎,同年與周金毅成立Unlock Dancing Plaza不加鎖舞踊館,致力推廣和普及現代舞。

About PAU Ellen 鮑藹倫
Ellen Pau is an artist who began working with film and video in Hong Kong in the 1980s. Her own introduction to and experience with video art closely parallels the development of this medium in Hong Kong itself. Her earlier works describe and interrogate the cultural / sexual identity in post colonial Hong Kong. Her works are shown in pop music concerts, performances, conference and festivals, such as European Media art festival, Japan Image Forum, Kwangju Biennial, Johannesburg Biennial, Cities on the move, Asia Pacific Triennial, Venice Biennale and among others. She was artist-in-residence in Holland Mu Art Foundation, Spacex Gallery in UK, Griffith University in Australia and Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. She participates in Asia-Europe Art Exchange and was awarded fellowship for artistic development by Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Asian Cultural Council. Pau also established Videotage. She curates multimedia programs for Microwave Festival, museums/gallery and festival.
生於香港,任職放射師,同時是錄影太奇的創辦人兼藝術總監,及香港微波國際媒體藝術節委員會成員。自八十年代起,鮑藹倫開始從事電影及錄像創作,之後更成立了亞洲首個專注電影、錄像及電子藝術發展的團體 「錄影太奇」,其作品多番被邀參加國際展覽,例如Cities on the Move、亞太當代藝術三年展 (1996) 及威尼斯雙年展 (2001) 等。

White as color is just a fluid concept. White of ice, white of paper, white of milk, white of cloud… white of air, liquid and solid, the whites are all different and each of them owns unique property. The fusion of Materials and Eyes reveals the truth of colors. Sliding Whites is an experiment on the TV cells, the representation of color and the originality of digital image. This video is awarded a honourable mention in the International Media Art Biennale WRO in 2005. 白作為白色永沒有既定的概念,白雪、白紙、白乳、白雲… 氣態、液態、固態,各有所白。真實的顏色是視覺與物質的溶和。溜•紅綠藍,是以電視微粒、顏色的表像和數碼影像的本像作出一次析白的實驗。本作品在2005年奪得歐洲新媒體藝術雙年展的評審推介獎。

Eric was born in Hong Kong on 1982. he gained a diploma of Digital Media Studies in Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwun Tong), and currently studying in School of Creative media of City University of Hong Kong. He gained a Distinguished Award at The 8th Hong Kong Independent Short Film and Video Awards 2002 with his film Constructing Destruction and his works has shown in USA, Australia, Belgium, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, etc.
1982年於香港出生,畢業於香港專業教育學院,取得數碼媒體製作文憑,隨後於香港城市大學創意媒體學院完成學位課程。他的作品曾於美國,澳洲,比利時,日本,韓國和香港等地展出,其中作品《Constructing Destruction》取得2002年香港獨立短片及錄像比賽優異獎。
